I am trying to do some game planning, but my 5E DMG is out of my reach at the moment.
I recall there's a maintenance costs table that shows the monthly upkeep costs for a castle, a fort, and an outpost along with the number of soldiers and NPC retainers that includes. Can someone with moment to spare give me building - # retainers - monthly costs? I'm only interested in the estate types that come with soldiers. I think that's just 3 or so.
I'm trying to hack Pathfiner's Kingdom building rules with some 5e trimming.

A monster’s speed tells you how far it can move on its turn. For more information on speed, see the player’s D&D basic rules or the Player’s Handbook. All creatures have a walking speed, simply called the monster’s speed. Creatures that have no form of ground-based locomotion have. I'm new to D&D 5e and it's the first time I've played. People keep referring to the 'DMG'. It is a game mechanic or something else? If it is a game mechanic, what does it do? Nov 09, 2014 The Big Five could be combined with the DMG pages above to flesh out memorable NPCs! Thank you, Wizards of the Coast. I want to thank the team at Wizards of the Coast for allowing me to preview some of the pages from the new Dungeon Master’s Guide. Dec 12, 2014 Unless I've missed something. Nothing specific from a glance over of my DMG. Flat bonuses are rare enough you can just add them. So yes, this does mean technically you can stack rings of protection, cloak of protection, magic armour and magic shields. The dueling cane is a specially crafted stick, weighted so that it can be wielded swiftly, like a rapier. It practically is a rapier, except a relatively hollow, shaped metal bar replaces the blade, giving it bludgeoning damage, and lowering the threat range.

This dual purpose item was originally a dwarven innovation. Used by miners in unfriendly territory to both fight and dig, these shovels have saved many dwarven lives. This weapon causes slashing damage when the edge of the shovel is used and bludgeoning damage when the flat of the shovel is used. Other races have been quick to adopt the combat shovel as a digging tool in hostile areas and occasionally as equipment issued to specialized troops. Adamantine versions with darkwood hafts are popular with dwarven diggers. Dmg mori dmu 50 way oil for hair.
Note: All dwarves are proficient with the combat shovel.
